Treasurer’s Office – Town of Orange

The Town Treasurer is responsible for maintaining the Town’s financial accounts and ensuring municipal funds are properly managed. The Treasurer invests town funds, maintains records of taxes voted, pays authorized town bills, and administers payroll and employee benefits.

The Treasurer works closely with other town officials to ensure the town’s financial operations run smoothly and that funds collected, allocated, and disbursed through the various departments are properly managed.


Property Tax Payments

Payment Due Dates

  • Property tax payments are due by 4:00 PM on August 15 and November 15 each year.
  • If either date falls on a weekend or legal holiday, the payment will be due by 4:00 PM on the next business day.
  • Payments must be received by the Treasurer’s Office by the due date to be considered timely.

Payment Options

Mail

Mail payments early to ensure they arrive before the due date.

In Person

Payments may be made during regular office hours at the Town Office.

Credit Card or ACH (with fee)

Secure Drop Box

A secure drop box is located to the right of the Town Clerk’s Office front door and may be used outside of office hours.


Receipts

If you would like a receipt for a payment made by mail or drop box, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope.


Mortgage Escrow Accounts

If your taxes are paid through a mortgage escrow account, send a copy of your tax bill to your mortgage company.

It is the property owner’s responsibility to ensure the lender has the most current bill.

Delinquent Taxes

Taxes not paid by the due date will be subject to:

  • Interest: 1% per month on the unpaid balance

  • Penalty: 8% added after the second installment if taxes remain unpaid

Interest will continue to accrue monthly until the taxes are paid in full.
The 8% penalty is assessed once per year after the second installment.
